Patient tissue is critical to finding an effective treatment and cure for LAM. A major limiting factor in making progress in LAM research is the availability of investigators to access fresh and archived LAM patient tissues. In order for scientists to get the materials that they need to conduct LAM research, we have been working to create global systems to enable fast and effective tissue donor registration along with efficient and transparent LAM tissue procurement and distribution to researchers throughout the world.
Thanks to our strong partnership with the National Institutes of Health- National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NIH-NHLBI) and the National Disease Research Interchange (NDRI), an effective system has been up and running in the United States since March 2007 but the system and our committed and proactive partners at the http://www.ndri.org/ need us, patients and our families, to support their efforts to ensure success.
Please contact us at: info@lamtreatmentalliance.org with "Tissue" in the subject line if you are interested in learning more about how you can help researchers fast-track treatment research by gaining critical access to your lung, kidney, lymphatic and other tissues.
